Our Double Shred Systems, using various shredders, shred widths and conveyor combinations, utilize specially designed
cutter hooks that rip and tear paper prior to being shredded. As an
example of this powerful force, the AMS-15000 was tested shredding a
fully sealed box of copy paper containing 10 reams of paper weighing a
total of 50 pounds. The AMS-15000 quickly consumed and shredded all of
the paper in one pass. When combined with a secondary shredder at a
smaller shred width, the double shred system will destroy 8 to 10 ton
of paper an hour into unreadble chips.
Another special feature of the AMS-15000 is its Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), allowing for control based starts and stops of the steel belt conveyor feeding the shredder, thus regulating the amount of paper entering the system. When the PLC senses too much paper, it automatically stops the infeed conveyor for a period of time to allow the shredder to clear itself.
