Recycled paper sold to paper brokers or paper mills has a dollar value. Out of recycled paper the paper mills manufacture new paper, paper towels, toilet tissue and many other paper products.

Removal of contaminants from the paper flow can increase the paper's value from 40% - 60%, depending on the grade. Paper is graded according to it's purity. Paper grades include, but are not limited to, mixed office paper, sorted office paper and white ledger. Computer print outs, newsprint and corrugated also have separate grades. It is best not to mix them in with your office paper or commingle them together.
